Span Flex was recently completed the new Liberty Science Center Dino Dig tensile membrane canopy system located in Jersey City, NJ. Liberty Science Center's intent was to create a permanent outdoor dinosaur dig exhibition set within three naturalistic rockscape pools, which house replicated fossils concealed by sand. Two of the three pools of the simulated paleontological dig area are covered by a permanent open-air PTFE canopy roofing system with an approximate plan area of 2,750 sq.ft. Span Flex's scope included design, engineering, fabrication, supply and installation of the PTFE membrane, steel support structure, cables, and clamping/hardware with completion in December 2019.
