The largest mall in southeast Mexico, the roof of the shopping mall Cabo Norte is covered with approximately 135,000 sq.ft. of the translucent ETFE cushions equaling 102 total cushions designed and built by Span Flex. A ventilation system controls the constant pressure and provides compensation for strong wind loads in the membrane. A special IR-cut membrane was used to reduce the thermal load in the interior in a significant way. For the assembling of the ETFE cushions, custom developed aluminium profile system with silicone seals were used.
